Natures version of Gulliver’s Travels
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving – we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it – but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.”
― Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
Taking a walk out back I noticed this very large leaf settled in among all the smaller maple and oak leaves on the winter ground. I looked around and couldn’t find any other leaves like this one, or any tree that may have held it. Not on my property nor the neighbors just across the property line. Isn’t that how life works? Sometimes taking us not where we fit in, not where we think we belong, or not with others like us, but where we belong and where we can fill a purpose. Instead of fighting the current that moves us. Shouldn’t we ride the rapids and accept the challenges with what comes next?
