I felt the urge to split White Sands up into a couple posts just because I didn’t want the reader to get in an hurry to scroll through all the pictures and not take in the beauty I was trying to catch. Take your time with these pictures look at them. Look at the massive area covered by the sands. The mountains are so far away they almost look small. How the White Gypsum in some pictures reflects, and mimics the colors of the sky. The height and depth of some of these dunes. There is just so much to see and so much to take in. Allow yourself the time to relax, enjoy, even meditate a bit. Empty your mind like the vast emptiness of the desert sands. Enjoy the little things even if they are huge and surrounding us.
“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.”
