So after a quick break to go get some coffee, which turned out to be cold, I made my way back to the lake. Being in a bad mood from cold coffee, mental note bring my own next time, it seemed like the wildlife wasn’t going to cooperate on this lap either. After making it about three quarters of the way around the lake I finally saw something that made the whole thing worth while. A big beautiful bald eagle circling in the sky above me. I snapped away and managed to get a few good shots even with little in the background but the bluebird sky. This totally made my day. In my rush to get home to inspect the pictures I was surprised by some bonus birds with a field full of turkeys. Over all this was a pretty good day. Cold coffee aside.

Looks like he picked up a wingman.

Cropped for detail.

He was way up there.

Jet and smoke trail flying high above our friend.

This was my favorite angle.
True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.
